Which means we're going to get blown away.

The federal agencies are forecasting 12 to 17 total named storms this year, which bring winds of 39 mph or higher, according to a release issued by the NOAA last week. Of those, five to nine could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher), including one to four major hurricanes (winds of 111 mph or higher). NOAA has a 70% confidence in these ranges, according to the release.

Judging by the past year or so of weather predictions, I'd probably guess - zero hurricanes this season.

Of course, that IS ridiculous because there are always hurricanes even if most of them either never make landfall or never arrive in the United States.

But for example, we were supposed to get a serious DELUGE Monday - and it never happened.
