We were involved in the early days of the LCS (ne "Street Fighter") program, participating on three of the competing design teams. I watched the progression of the designs to the point where I was so dismayed with them that I was ultimately relieved that we were not awarded delivery contracts for the final versions.
I had some very "lively" email exchanges with UnderSecNav Bob Work as he tried to convince me that my criticisms and concerns for the final designs, especially the Lockheed version, were misplaced and misguided. But I was correct....sadly for taxpayers and our national defense posture and capabilities.
